Fox Island Places | Nature Center

The Fox Island Nature Center is a 5 acre wetland property, with hiking trails and rain forest features. The land was saved from the developer's bulldozer through a community fundraising drive, and was founded on October 7, 2004, through a vision of former FICRA President John Ohlson, members of the FICRA Board and the Fox Island Building Trust.

The Fox Island Nature Center

The Fox Island Nature Center was founded on October 7, 2004, through a vision of former FICRA President John Ohlson, members of the FICRA Board and the Fox Island Building Trust.  The dedication was done on August 13, 2005, during the 2005 FICRA Fair.

This Nature Center and wildlife preserve was made possible entirely through the generous donations of time, money and community spirit from the residents of Fox Island, and Scouts.  This wetland area was spared from development by community members coming together and raising over $40,000 in less than 90 days.

This park is owned and operated by the people of Fox Island.
